Christmas countdown.

We began our annual countdown to Christmas this week. That is always and exciting time in our house. The children love the idea of taking turns to switch the numbers on our countdown chart each night. The excitement they have about the holiday is contagious. This year we are trying to focus more on making holiday memories for our children rather than make the holiday about getting more things. Of course we will still give them some presents and exchange as a couple. My wife keeps saying the only thing she wants is the best eye wrinkle cream and a new pair of slippers. I don't honestly see a wrinkle on her face but she seems to think she is getting some. I have asked her for a new remote control for my garage door opener. Somehow I lost the old one and it is a pain without it. Aside from a few small gifts we are going to make Christmas more about spending time as a family and less about being part of the consumer culture.
