It is all coming together....

For the last year I have listened to my wife talk about and infinite array of changes we needed to make or project we needed to complete. These project seemed to be vastly different and with no clear focus. I could not understand why we needed to begin earnestly recycling or build a raised garden bed. Vermicomposting sounded absolutely bizarre to me and I wondered why we needed rain barrels. The compost tumbler I build made no sense and neither did removing our dishwasher. Now it is all coming together and I am beginning to see what and to where she has been moving us. We are moving towards a sustainable lifestyle and decreasing our reliance on the world food chain to provide for our needs. Along the way we are making "greener" choices and treading more lightly in this world. Our lives are less complicated by a great stretch and we are saving money on so many things. Our water usage has decreased by 2,000 gallons per month and our trash output is nearly 3/4 less! I am no longer a doubter but a willing participant in this never ending and sometimes bizarre process.
