Centered and happy...
For the majority of our marriage my wife was engaged in furthering her career or education in some form or another. It was like she was on a mission to amass a collection of degrees to which no one could be compared. Her destiny seemed to be intimately entwined with something involving a six figure salary, high heels, and a womens briefcase. When she announced three years ago that she wanted to leave it all behind I thought she was having a break down. Over this time she has been on a journey to make our family and home as vibrant and healthy as possible. Along the way she has transformed in ways I cannot completely describe but the words centered and happy are a good start. Honestly, I never thought that someone as driven as her could ever be fulfilled with home schooling children, gardening, or homemaking in the way that she was in corporate America. The reality is that women like herself are growing in numbers and are slowly reshaping our world. I envy her and the happiness she is finding in radically simplifying her life and enriching the entire family along the way.
