Big news...

We live in a very small town and it doesn't take much to make something newsworthy in our town. The big news right now is the plan by the school board to consolidate a couple of our schools next year. We have been having a series of public meetings that have gotten quite crazy because of all the people in attendance. It wouldn't surprise me to see crowd control rope stanchions at the next meeting. People here feel very strongly about keeping certain schools open no matter how much enrollment declines or how stressed the budget becomes. I am a practical person and believe that we have to do what needs to be done to give our children the best opportunities possible within our budget. If that means consolidating schools then that is what we need to do.
