Tax return...

Today we filed our federal tax return. It is a relief to have them done. Typically we wait until the last minute to file because it seems so daunting. This year the plan was to get them done early and get our return early. Most people we know get their tax returns and use them on something like a trip to . We will not be doing that. Instead we hope to put some money towards paying down our mortgage and save Hawaii. The only thing we do intend to spend the money on is a set of shelves for our kitchen, some lights for the basement, and a couple of toys for the kids. There was a time when we would have spent every dime but our priorities are very different now. It feels good to know that we will have a cushion in the bank should we need it.
