More than I wanted to know...

It has been almost 9 months since I was in a car accident with a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel. In that time I have learned more than I ever hoped to about auto insurance companies and auto insurance in general. I now does not surprise me to get a letter in the mail indicating that my insurance company is still working to resolve my claim with the responsible party. There was a time when I would have expected immediate resolution but this is no longer the case. In fact I received a letter last week letting me know that my case was still in recovery status. There is no doubt in my case as to who was responsible the problem lies in getting him to comply with the insurance company's request that he make payments for the damages that resulted from his actions. I have my doubts that he will ever make payments since he has made any effort thus far.
