Beer brewer...

It has been several years since I begun trying to brew wine at home. I have had minimal success in my efforts. I hate to admit it but I am just not very good at reading directions and following. I have fooled myself into believing that making good wine is something that you can sort of make up as you go along. My most recent batch of wine has proven to be much less tasty than I had hoped. My wife has taken it upon herself to read up on wine making and has called me out on some of my techniques. It is pretty clear that I can't just wing it any more. She is now suggesting that I or rather "we" give home brewing beer a try instead. She thinks that if we work on it together then one of us will read the instructions. What she is really saying is that she will read the instructions and keep me from making them up myself.
