Smarty...
We just received the results of some of the mandatory testing required by our older son's school. Testing always makes us a bit nervous because our son really isn't motivated by scores or grades just yet. I can begin to see the spark there that he is starting to equate grades with certain privileges but it isn't quite there yet. The issue isn't that he isn't bright but rather that he doesn't take the time to put forth his best effort. I am so relieved to see that his test scores were awesome and I believe for once they reflect what he really knows. His average score in reading was about 12 grade which is pretty darn good for a boy just starting the 5th grade. His math scores were right on target for his grade level which is what I would have guessed. The areas we thought were weaknesses and his true strengths were shining through.
