Melting pot.

In our town they recently opened a skate park. It has been something that numerous people have worked very hard to make a reality for the youth in our small town. I have to say it is an interesting place to walk past. You will find a wide assortment of different groups of kids hanging out there. There are kids dressed in everything from hip hop clothing to the gothic style. I remember in high school how the kids who rode skate boards were always considered outsiders. People picked on them and made them the target their aggression. 20 years later how different things are in the same small town. I am thinking this is a really good thing that people can put aside to come together over a shared interest. How great it would have been if 20 years ago we had been able to think a little less about how everyone dressed and a little more about our shared interests?
