Not a vacation.

I rarely take a vacation day. I don't know why this is true but it is. In two years at my job I have accrued a significant amount of time off. Today I used my first vacation day in a very long time. I would like to say that I used the day in a relaxing way but I didn't. The day was spent with my family traveling to enroll our youngest son in cyber school. The truth is that long car trips are not very peaceful with our children. I love my children but they just aren't the type of kids who want to be confined for any period of time. They are free spirits that are used to being on the move. A moving car is not the same to them as propelling themselves using their own energy. The enrollment appointment took a little less than an hour but the travel time was over two hours each way. We accomplished what we set out to do but it was not a relaxing trip. At least we won't have to make it again soon. I am really looking forward to seeing how my little guy does in cyber school since this will be his first year.
