Free Apples...

In addition to canning venison this weekend we also canned about 20 quarts of apple sauce. We were given a couple of bushels of apples by a lady I work with. The apples weren't in the greatest of shape which meant there was a lot of work to do to get them to the stage of becoming apple sauce. It took a very long time to process the apples due to the condition they were in. We almost stopped in the middle and called it a draw. In the end we trudged on and ended of with quite a bit more apple sauce than we thought we would get. The value of this apple sauce at the store would be about $45-50.00 given that they were organic apples. Knowing that made all the work worth the effort.
