We sent our son to an overnight camp for the first time this week. Last night we picked him and asked him how things went... he replied the kids here are very mean. As it turns out our son was picked on almost the entire time he was there. The group leader even drew us aside and told us that our son was picked on an suggested we enroll him in karate to build his self esteem. What kills me is that rather than take the parents of the kids doing the picking on aside it is us who are supposed to change our son. Why on earth is our world this way? It makes it sound as if he is the reason these kids are cruel...
