Free wood...

In our area of the country many people heat their homes with wood. Buying wood can be a pricey thing if you need a great deal of it. Right now it goes for about $50 a face cord. We have a fireplace that we use periodically throughout the winter but it is not our primary heat source. We have only had to buy a couple of cords of wood in the time that we have lived in our home. Our wood supply has reached the point that we have to buy more wood for next winter. My in-laws recently had a dead tree fall down on their property and have offered us the wood. The tree was pretty large which means we will have a supply of wood for the next couple of years for free. I like having wood on hand in case our furnace were to fail and for camping. It will take some work to get the wood home but it is worth it for free wood.
