Goals for the future...

We are finally at a place where we can start thinking about what to do with extra money. Having whittled our bills down to the barest minimum and lowered our debts has left us with a bit of money to invest. I don't really know much about investing or things like CD type annuity rates which makes it all a bit daunting. Right now I am leaning towards simply paying off our mortgage ahead of time. Our mortgage is the only large debt we have left and it seems like an obvious choice for directing our extra money. I just wish I knew more about finances before making a firm decision as to where to put any extra funds we have. Everywhere you turn there are different guidelines and no clear answers that are right for all people.
