Hard cider...

I have a new home brewing project in the works for this fall. This project is to make both regular and hard cider. We have been sampling different types of hard cider from our local market and have found we quite like it. Since we have an abundance of apples available to us it as well as great home brewing equipment it only makes sense to brew our own hard cider. I have already constructed a cider press and have plans for how I would build an apple scratter. A scratter is a device that chops up the apples prior to pressing them. We are waiting until we find a sale on new garbage disposals. These apparently work perfectly for chopping up massive quantities of apples into pulp for pressing. I will keep you posted on this exciting project as it comes together.
