Mooching Neighbor
Excuse me for a minute but I just have to spout off about something. I am a guy who will do anything I can to help out a friend or neighbor but I may have just reached a breaking point. We have this neighbor who is forever borrowing stuff from me like tools and whatnot. He claims to not have the money to buy his own stuff so I have always took pity on him until now. Today he calls me up and wants to know if I have an HDMI cable he could use. The guy claims to be broke but has just purchased a high definition television! I guess if I borrowed everything I ever needed I could save up and get one for myself.

OOooo that's annoying.
Best thing to do when a neighbour like this asks for stuff is
a) say that you DO have one, but it's broken. If it's something that he will have seen you using, like a grass-mower, say that the one you're using is borrowed from someone else so you DAREN'T pass it on.
And-
b) say yeah, of course you can borrow that! But ask to borrow something of his too. Just think up anything. An 8 x 8 inch cake tin for instance, as that'll take him an hour to dig out. HAHAHAHA....
