15 minutes...

Last night I was talking with another parent at my son's Boy Scout meeting about how much our children read. I was really surprised when this parent told me that their school is begging parents to have their children read for at least 15 minutes each night. My son would consider it a punishment if we placed a limit on his reading. The child wakes up and starts reading and reads throughout the day. He begs to be able to read at night before bed. In the bathroom he will pick up anything laying around and read it. He doesn't care if it is phentermine reviews or a car repair manual he wants to know what it says. I have to laugh because it is almost a daily event that my wife is telling my son to put down the book he is holding and get either dressed or undressed. The child will get showered and then sits down and starts reading without getting dressed. On the flip side we will send him to get ready for bed and find him 30 minutes later engrossed in a book still wearing his regular clothes. I can imagine a world where I have to force my child to read and am very grateful I don't have that experience.
