This week our oldest son turned 14 years old. It seems like just yesterday that he was starting kindergarten. I was going through my closet this week and found a practice book from his public school violin class. I remember buying him a cheap violin shoulder rest at Musicians Friend to fit the violin we rented. He was such a little guy at the time. I can't believe it has been 9 years since then. He has long since given up playing the violin and is now taller than me. I wish he has stuck with the violin, but I have to let him make his own choices. Who knows what new interests he might develop in the next nine years.
