Foraging...

Last night we took the children out to do a bit of foraging. On the ground of the place where I work there are several chestnut trees. My older son has desperately wanted to roast some chestnuts and so we decided to take him foraging. As it turns out we waited a bit too long in the season to get them. We looked for an hour or so an managed to find about a pound and a half of nuts. It wasn't as much as we had hoped for but at least there were some. If we like them we will know better next year and go looking earlier in the year.
