Job applications...

I have been at my current position for about 5 years. The job that I do is very stressful but comes with a number of great benefits. Because of the benefits I would like to stay with my employer but possibly move to a different department. I have been applying for jobs in other departments for a while. The nice thing about this is I avoid the  pre-employment screening process. We are a seniority based organization. This means that when I apply for a job consideration is always given to my  rank within the organization. Essentially I just have to keep applying for jobs until I am the applicant with the most seniority. It is weird how qualifications do not matter as much as the time you have worked for the organization.
