Motivation...

We are presently struggling to find a way to instill a good work ethic in our oldest son. He simply does not have the drive and motivation to work hard at things in general. We have tried all sorts of methods to motivate him but nothing short of bribing him has worked thus far. I have considered extending the offer of possibly purchasing him on of those gaming desktop computers if he were to put forth more effort at things. This is not something I want to do because I feel he has to find it in himself to want to succeed at his goals and objectives we set forth for him. It is just frustrating to deal with a child who is so very smart but doesn't see the value in working hard.
