Surprised...

This week my youngest son turned five years old. He was absolutely thrilled with the idea of being five. Last year he was not keen at all on becoming a four year old. In fact he insisted we put a three candle on his cake instead of a number four candle. This year was entirely different. He was absolutely thrilled with the birthday cards he received and sat and stared at them for quite a while. Last year he would take birthday and holiday cards and cast them aside without a glance. It is just amazing what a difference a year can make in the attitude of a child. I can't believe my little boy is five already and that he will start kindergarten in just a few weeks. It seems like just weeks ago that we brought his tiny little self home from the hospital.
