Leaving home...

This morning our neighbor stopped me while shoveling the drive to ask if we wanted her son's lizard. Her son is leaving for the military in a month and she doesn't want to take care of the lizard and doesn't have the time for it. In talking with her I could tell that she is torn up about his departure. She said that it just doesn't seem like he should be old enough to be in the military. I am sure it seemed like only yesterday that he was learning to drive and pestering her for back acne treatments. I wasn't really sure what to say about her son leaving. It is such a hard topic to address with people because there are so many things to consider. All I can say is that he will be in our thoughts and prayers and that if she needs anything to let us know.
