Man time.

This week my wife and children went away for three days. It has been about a year since they last went away. I have to say I enjoyed my man time and it was nice to have some time to myself. Don't get me wrong I love my family and wouldn't want anything to take them away from me for any long period of time but a couple of days was nice. I went out metal detecting and spent some time working on my hobbies. The television remained completely free of cartoons and home improvement shows. I was able to get all the toppings on my pizza that I really enjoy and watch a violent movie without worrying about the impact on anyone who might hear it or wander in the room inadvertently. My poor wife however came back from her three days completely exhausted from dealing with the kids and looking like she had spent the time doing hard labor. I feel just a wee bit guilty.
