Not The Same Person

I ran into one of my good friends from high school at the gas station the other day. It had been more than 5 years since I had last seen him. The last time I saw him he was fairly heavily into a partying lifestyle and looked pretty rough. To say I was shocked at how he now appeared would be an understatement. I complimented him on how pulled together he seemed compared to before. As we chatted he detailed how his life had fallen apart because of alcoholism. His wife left him, he lost his job, and was arrested for DUI. This was the wake up call he needed to drive him to seek drug rehab treatment. As he described how different he is living life today it really seems like his life is back on track. I am so glad he got the help he needed and is no longer living that kind of life.
