When the mask makes he man

Wife went to the video store and brought back a movie that has been on my "must see" list for quite some time. Nacho Libre is about the rich in tradition world of Lucha Libre. What is Lucha Libre you might ask? Well the traditional definition is as follows:

"Lucha libre, a Spanish phrase loosely translated into English as "free-style fighting," is a genre of professional wrestling developed in Mexico. Lucha Libre traces back to the early 1930s when Salvador Lutterroth brought American wrestlers he had seen during his time in Texas to Mexico."

So what is so special about this wrestling style you might ask? Wrestlers like El Santo, The Blue Demon, Rey Mysterio Sr. and Jr., and the Guerrero family have made this style famous all over Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the United States. WCW, in its dying days, brought over many Luchadores such as Silver King, La Parka, Psicosis, and Juventud Guerrera and gave wrestling fans good quality, high flying matches until the NWO angle eventually ruined it. As I am a fan of "old time wrasslin" my choice of an example of Lucha Libre is "the man of 1000 masks" Mil Mascaras. Enjoy.
