It is about time.

I'm 39 years old and I've never had a physical. Bad, I know. I go to the doctor when I'm sick, but that's it. So I thought it might be a good idea just to make certain I'm in excellent health. What does a physical consist of exactly? What kinds of things does the doctor look at? Is it just a quick once-over, take my blood pressure, look at my eyes and ears, that sort of thing? Or is it a more thorough, lengthy exam? Does it involve blood work for cholesterol and things like that? Or would I have to request that in addition to the physical? I'd just like to get an idea of what I'm in for before I go. I realize putting off this sort of stuff is never a good idea but it always seems to be the last thing on my list of stuff that I need to do.
